DNN ssl module causing editor to be disable

I'm using a SSL module for dnn to protect specific areas of a site. The modules uses a http handler to redirect the page to secure page. On secure pages the editor is totally disabled.

Does anyone have any suggestions for workarounds?

CuteEditor can support SSL without any problems.

I removed all the external links in the shared config file as directed in the post you sent me. I can now access the drop down lists, but everything else is still disabled.

Any other suggestion?

This is the solution :

1. Open the following file: CuteSoft_Client/CuteEditor/Configuration/Shared/Common.config

2. Remove all the example code which points to CuteSoft site. For example, remove this: <html><![CDATA[<img border=0 align='absMiddle' src='/data/signature.gif' /> CuteSoft]]></html>

I've done as you suggested and still getting the same behavior - even after IIS reset....

Seems like the offending issue is found here (IE8 telling me that this is a problem):

Looks to me as though if I could tell CuteEditor to pull the template.aspx from an SSL connection, all would be fine...

Page I'm looking at is http://www.sapphire.com/register.aspx

I've turned SSL off for the time being...

Help...

Please open CuteSoft_Client\CuteEditor\Template.aspx and remove the following cod then try again.

Thank you for the responses.

Interestingly, when I set the admin for the site to expect to use SSL and then mark the registration page as SSL secured, that page gives me a mixed content message and Fiddler tells me that the offending players are the Cute Editor Template.

If I remove the DNN forced SSL from the site, I can navigate to the registration page, start the url with HTTPS:// and the page comes up fine with no mixed messages.

Will have to figure out what DNN is doing that would cause this.

I will keep posting as I find more answers...

Sooo... I've been working on this for a while...

I'm using DNN Professional 5.02.02 and changed the ADMIN > Site Settings > SSL Settings

SSL is Enabled

SSL is enforced

and I set the SSL URL and the Standard URL...

When I mark our registration page as Secure, things seem to work fine in most major browsers. In IE (version 8 on Windows 7 and version 7 on XP) I get a mixed content message. If I accept insecure items, a blank text editor appears with no toolbars and I cannot type in it (see screenshot below). If I do not accept the mixed content, then there is an error showing where the reich text editor should be.

This is the error that I get:

I'll try using the built in DNN text editor instead. I would like to use Cute Editor because it seems to be the best I've worked with... but we have to have this page secure because we ask for SSN on this page (http://www.sapphire.com/registration.aspx)

Any further direction would be appreciated!
