Community Server is a community collaboration platform offering forums, blogging, file sharing, photo galleries, and more. It is built with ASP.NET and uses Microsoft SQL Server to store data. It is developed by Telligent Systems and was originally created in 2004 from the merger of three widely-used ASP.NET projects: the .Text blog engine, the nGallery photo gallery, and the ASP.NET Forums. Since then many more applications and features have been added.

DotNetNuke® is an open source content management system written in VB.NET for the ASP.NET framework. It is fully extensible and customizable through skins and modules and can be used to create dynamic, community based websites quickly and easily.
DotNetNuke was originally based on the IBuySpy Portal released by Microsoft as a sample application for the .NET Framework. It has been expanded and developed and is now in its fourth edition. Version 4.0 or later requires version 2.0 of the .NET Framework.

The Rainbow project is an open source initiative to build a comprehensive content management system using Microsoft's ASP.NET and C# technologies.
Rainbow, available today in 29 languages, allows content authoring to be safely delegated to role-based team members who need little or no knowlege of HTML. Rainbow optionally supports a two-step approval-publish process. 75 plug-in modules are now included in the standard release, including support for an e-store, XML news feeds, Flash, Maps, Newsletter, Surveys, Forums, Document Management, Custom Lists, and more.
